CHIP Guide

If you are struggling to pay for your child’s medical care, you may qualify for the Children’s Health Insurance Plan (CHIP). Like Medicaid, this health insurance program is designed to cover low-income children and certain other individuals who would otherwise not have any health care coverage. CHIP assistance varies by state, but most children can receive coverage for checkups, preventive care and wellness visits. If you believe you may meet the income requirements to qualify, you can apply through the Health Insurance Marketplace or with your state’s Medicaid agency.
