Millions of low-income households are in need of utility assistance. The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program – or LIHEAP – provides temporary cash assistance to help qualified applicants pay for energy-related expenses like heating and cooling (in some states). The total amount of assistance you can get depends on a few things, like where you live, your family size, your income and your energy needs. If you qualify, LIHEAP will pay a portion of your bill directly to your utility company. Find out more about LIHEAP, including how to apply, by downloading our free guide.
